At the end of the CScS, the students should be able to:

Analyse the clinical features (symptoms and signs) affecting each system in the body in relation to aetiology, structure, pathophysiology and biochemistry by applying the knowledge gained in the Basic and Applied Sciences Streams.

Take a comprehensive history and perform a relevant physical examination of a patient presenting with a clinical complaint.

Formulate a differential diagnosis or diagnoses or list of problems in a patient.

Plan investigations and/or perform investigative procedures for each condition and interpret their results, and analyse critically the pathophysiological basis of the investigations and their value in clinical diagnosis.

Formulate a management plan while demonstrating the principles of therapeutic procedures, non-pharmacological and pharmacological management strategies.

Apply the knowledge of the mode of action of drugs, adverse effects, important interactions and contraindications, and cost in prescribing.

Formulate a long-term management plan, including rehabilitation and health promotion where appropriate.

Apply the knowledge of medico-legal and public health duties of a doctor, as appropriate.

Search and review research publications and clinical guidelines on relevant topics and make critical observations.
Plan simple epidemiological/clinical surveys, encouraging research, evidence- based medicine and self-directed learning
Support clinical learning and related tasks as a student in an ethical and professional manner.
